Economical earth friendly alternatives are great things that I count as a privilege to share with others. So, when fellow blogger friend from Closer to Lucy told me about Soda Stream Soda Makers I just had to give the products a try. I am so glad that I did. My family and I have had great fun making our own soda at home. I don’t have to lug heavy cans of soda home, each liter of soda cost about .25 to make and since I’m using tap water we’re cutting down on the plastic use in our home too.
[Image]Making carbonated water and soft drinks is simple! Turn tap water into sparkling water in under 30 seconds. Fizz to your taste and add the flavor of your choice to make your favorite drink. There so many flavors to choose from cola, lemon lime, and root beer just to name a few. There are “Sparkling Naturals” that contain no artificial flavors, no artificial colors and no artificial sweeteners, and do not contain any preservative, making them a perfect, sparkling, natural soda alternative for the entire family.SodaStream is an "Active Green" product, meaning that consumers are actively reducing their CO2 footprint every time they make soda or sparkling water at home instead of buying it from the store. The more the system is used on a daily basis, the more CO2 footprint the user actively saves.Because SodaStream uses water straight from the tap, the system makes traditional store-bought beverage bottles obsolete. That means less plastic manufactured, less plastic waste is created, and fewer bottled beverages must be transported from manufacturers to distributors to stores to homes. Here are some things that I enjoy about the Soda Stream Soda Maker:
· Easy to install· Easy operation· Reusable 1 liter bottle· Order online· Available at many local stores· Earth Friendly· Economical· Allows me to control the amount of sweetness in the soda my family drinks as well as how much fizz.
It is so nice and convenient to have the addition of the Soda Stream Soda Maker to my kitchen appliances. With Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner it will be handy to have the ability to make soda at home for when unexpected guests arrive.
By giving a Soda Stream Soda Maker as a Christmas gift I will be sharing a great economic earth friendly product to family and friends, it will be a gift that they can enjoy for years to come.
Glazed Lemon Cake Made with Soda Stream Soda Maker
It's a beautiful day here in Tennessee. The sun is shining, the leaves are falling, and I thought it would be a great day to bake a Lemon Glazed Cake. It is a good time to try out some Lemon Lime Soda made from my Soda Stream Soda Maker . I mentioned Soda Streamon another recent post.
I was in the middle of making the cake when I realized I didn't have any lemon lime soda on hand, which prior to having the Soda Stream Soda Maker would have made my Lemon Glazed Cake a flop. In about 30 seconds I was able to whip up a liter of lemon lime soda. I only needed a cup so when Riley gets home from school he will be able to have his favorite soda with a wrap before he's off to his basketball game. I thought I would post the Lemon Glazed Cake Recipe for anyone who would like to give it a try. The cost is about .22 per serving. The economical cost of this cake puts a big smile on my face when I see how much my whole family enjoys it.
Glazed Lemon Cake
1 package (18-1/4 oz.) white cake mix
1 package (3.4 oz) instant lemon pudding mix
3/4 vegetable oil (I use applesauce)
3 eggs (I use 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites)
1 cup of lemon-lime soda
1 cup confectioners' sugar
2Tbsp. lemon juice
In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, pudding mix, oil (applesauce) and eggs. Beat on medium speed for 1 minute. Gradually beat in soda. Pour batter into 9x13 greased baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched in center.
Combine confectioners' sugar and lemon juice until smooth, carefully spread over warm cake cool on a wire rack. Yield: 12 servings (.22 per servings)
