TIP DAY

Here are some Kitchen tips...


  • For pots/pans that have stubborn stuck on food, I place some water with a drop or two of dish washing liquid in the pot/pan and heat it up on the stove. Right before it comes to a boil I take a wooden spoon and easily scrape off the softened particles from the bottom of the pot/pan. I pour out the heated liquid then place the pot/pan in my dish water and there is no need for any "elbow grease" woo hoo.
  • I enjoy baking bread but I don't like the mess that occurs. I use a larger bowl than needed when mixing the dry and wet ingredients together then simply knead the dough in the bowl. This works great and makes less of a mess.
  • After making bread this way I let the bowl dry just a bit then take a towel and wipe the inside of the bowl out, dump the contents in the trash, then wash the bowl as usual. This way there is no goop in my dish water.
  • When making muffins or cupcakes I have discovered if I let the batter rest for about five minutes I have greater success with  the finished product.
